Virgin Mobile vJazz Music Phone

Virgin Mobile, aiming to have 5 million subscribers in India from youth segment by 2011, has rolled out its music-centric phone called vJazz at an attractive price tag of Rs. 4250. It comes with vMusic, which allows users to download unlimited music up to 1,00,000 songs at no extra cost for one year. Here is the feature check of this phone.

However, the main attraction of this candy bar phone is vMusic, a music client in phone by which users can choose and download up to 1,00,000 Bollywood, Regional and International tracks for free for one year. Also, users get lifetime validity and prepaid connection, two cool Virgin T-shirts, free 1000 SMSes, free 1000 local minutes and a mobile holster. All this for just Rs. 4250. The phone is currently available in two colors: Wine red and black.

Motorola Announces Clutch i465

Motorola unveiled an Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN) phone called i465 which features a full QWERTY keyboard. Marking Motorola’s first step towards Pust-to-talk technology, this device is designed for texting purposes. Here’s its factsheet.

This phone is made to withstand extreme conditions like shock, vibration, dust, and solar radiation. That’s why hailed as Clutch. As stated above, it would be mainly targeting masses who love messaging. So, it offers IM-style messaging means users can handle incoming and outgoing messages stream at the same time, thanks to iDEN technology. However, with present flurry of high-end phones, this one seems bit out of place. Just check its features below to get an idea of this.

1.79-inch TFT display with 128 x 160 pixel resolution
64K colors
Bluetooth 1.2 and micro USB connectivity
3 MP camera with 4x zoom
2.5 mm mono audio jack

But the coolest thing about this phone is its weight. It weighs only 96 grams. It provides 205 minutes of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. Nothing announced about its release and price officially yet. But it could arrive in Q2 of 2009.

First Android Phone from Samsung

Samsung has entered Android market with the announcement of its first Android phone, Samsung I7500. With this, Samsung became the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone. This phone will be available from June 2009 in European market. Here’s its features check.

The Samsung I7500 offers users access to the full suite of Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk etc. Also available will be Integrated GPS with Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description. The phone is having features as below.

Touchscreen with a 3.2-inch AMOLED.
8 GB internal memory. Expandable up to 32 GB.

Guess what lacks here? Yes, a full fledged physical keyboard. Not all users are used to virtual touchscreen keyboard. A physical keyboard could have been a worthy addition. But all in all a good phone with nice features. Prices have not been declared yet but expect it to be less.

Projector Phone by Samsung: i7410

Mobile World Congress is a treat for mobile device lovers. Each day new devices with cool features are launched or announced. Samsung has also announced a new device jointly with Texas Instruments which can perform as a display projector.

Powered by DLP pico chipset, this phone can project multimedia content on a flat screen. This phone will be released in February 2009 in Korea and in Europe soon after. Price has not been stated also. Here is a profile of this touchscreen phone.

A Transparent Design Phone: LG GD900

LG today unveiled a phone with world’s first transparent design at Mobile World Congress 2009, Barcelona. A phone is not surpassing to other counterparts in terms of features but its unique design has caught up all the attention. It comes with a transparent keypad which glows while you slide it out.

Although no more specifications have been officially announced, here are some of the features that a phone might have. This touchscreen phone features an included Bluetooth Headset. It also has an HSDPA connectivity to ensure high speed internet access. Considering all these things, it’s going to be an expensive one I think. But you have to wait till Q2 2009 to know about it.

Anyway, the cool transparent design makes it a good style statement and a unique flaunt gadget. Just check this screenshot below in which a transparent keypad is visible.
