Gigabyte driver update to bring iPad USB charging

Apple iPadApple’s new iPad device is all a craze nowadays. Although it provide an option for charging from USB port, most USB ports on Windows PCs can’t provide enough juice to iPad due to device’s charging specification. Thankfully, Gigabyte motherboard owners can now enjoy iPad USB charging by performing a simple driver update.

Gigabyte’s driver update covers motherboards with Intel’s X58, P55, H55 and H57 as well as AMD’s upcoming 800 series chipsets. With the provision of iPad charging facility, Gigabyte became first of motherboard brands to provide this feature.

As a background check, let’s decode what’s troubling iPad while USB charging. While iPad is in use, most Windows USB ports can’t provide enough power due to motherboard USB power output and device’s charging specifications differences. But this new driver update brings capability for Gigabyte motherboards to serve more than the 500mA power for iPad charging.
