First Android Phone from Samsung
Samsung has entered Android market with the announcement of its first Android phone, Samsung I7500. With this, Samsung became the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone. This phone will be available from June 2009 in European market. Here’s its features check.
The Samsung I7500 offers users access to the full suite of Google services like Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk etc. Also available will be Integrated GPS with Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description. The phone is having features as below.
- A 5-megapixel camera with Auto Focus and Power LED
- Touchscreen with a 3.2-inch AMOLED.
- 8 GB internal memory. Expandable up to 32 GB.
- MP3, AAC, AAC+, e-AAC+, WMA, RA Audio formats support.
- MPEG4, H.263, H.264, WMV Video formats support.
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and MicroUSB.
- EDGE / GPRS
- 11.9mm thick
Guess what lacks here? Yes, a full fledged physical keyboard. Not all users are used to virtual touchscreen keyboard. A physical keyboard could have been a worthy addition. But all in all a good phone with nice features. Prices have not been declared yet but expect it to be less.

Samsung getting serious day by day, either their vibrant advertising with Aamir Khan or introducing latest feature like Android platform, 8 megapixel camera. Samsung guys are very keen to capture the Indian market,I am waiting eagerly for Android phone, can you tell me the release date in India.

No official words about release in India yet. But as it will be in June 2009 in European countries, expect it to arrive in India 2-3 months later from that.
